Three Signs That Your Air Conditioning Needs To Be Repaired

When your air conditioner is not functioning properly, it can make it quite miserable for those who are living inside. Thankfully, there are HVAC contractors out there who have been trained and are certified to deal with a variety of air conditioning repairs. This article is going to discuss 3 signs that your air conditioning needs to be repaired.

The Air Isn't Cool

One sign that you may need to contact an HVAC contractor to come in and repair your air conditioning unit is if it is no longer putting off cold air. While this could be something as simple as needing more air coolant for your system, it could be much more serious and complicated, such a broken air compressor. No matter what the case, a HVAC contractor is going to be able to complete a full inspection of your air conditioning unit to figure out what is wrong. If it is simple, they can likely fix the problem immediately, however, a more serious issue may require them to order in a part or you may need to have your entire air conditioning unit replaced.

There Is Poor Air Flow

Another sign that you may need to have your air conditioning unit replaced is if you are experiencing poor air flow. This could also be a sign that there is something wrong with your compressor because it isn't pumping the air out of the unit and in through your home as it should.

However, if you notice that some areas of your home are receiving cool air while others are not, this could be a sign that there is something wrong with the vents and ducts that your cool air is traveling through. Since pinpointing the issue is often very difficult, especially for someone without the necessary knowledge and equipment, hiring a HVAC contractor to come in and perform the inspection and repair is likely going to be the best way to go.

There Are Strange Smells

If there is any type of strange odor coming out of your vents when your air conditioning is running, this could be cause for alarm, and a sure sign that you need to hire an HVAC contractor. If you smell a burning smell, this could be a sign that a motor is giving out somewhere. If it smells as if something is dead, this could be a sign that a small animal or rodent died somewhere within your vents. In any case, an HVAC contractor will be able to get to the root of the problem and perform the necessary repairs.
